@@anishghosh9563 that's because Kolkata being the capital city it's police gets a lot of funding and are always under pressure from the Govt as well as the media and citizens to perform it's duties correctly.
Even if you look at the prison vans of WBP, they look like they're from the 60s and 70s whereas KP has modern, well equipped prison vans.
Btw KP also has unmarked vehicles but I don't get to see them very often so when I see a KP vehicle without livery and flashers and just police written on the windscreen, I know it's an undercover vehicle of the Special Branches.

In Nagaland,we have sumo . To start the vehicle, it takes 5 to 6 man to give a push start . At the high end ,we got scorpio classic and bolero.
I am a son of a retired ACP and have closely witnessed life of Constables and home guards.
They need a new vehicle every 4 years. They see a lot through out a day. Cars with AC is a must.
India seriously needs to bring about massive reforms and modernisation of the police forces and build a force that a real emerging superpower must have. Looking at the current state of the police forces, bragging that India is a future superpower is so laughable. If the police are not fixed as fast as possible, movements to abolish the police may rise. Watch and learn from NYPD to see how a modern police force should be like.
My friend's father works in CMO Punjab he told me about huge corruption in acquiring Toyota SUV in punjab. The officers suggested them new Scorpio N 4x4 with massive cost cutting and attractive price but they decided with these expensive Hilux. We all know how corruption works😢

Thing with EVs in Police fleets is a different case for different places.
Cop chases rarely happens in India (can't say the same for Northern part of India tho).
So for Kolkata Police EV is the perfect choice and should be for other cities too.
1. The city is strictly urban metropolitan in structure so even the criminals can't manage high speeds within the city traffic.
2. Since most of the cars would be standby at most times, it would be cheaper to run them especially when ICE uses petrol to run AC.
3. EVs are arguably quicker in urban environments, because they accelerate quickly so exiting corners and turns in narrower streets is faster they also reach traffic speeds faster than similarly priced ICE cars.
4. They can run uninterrupted surveillance hardware on their battery packs again without consuming fuel.
5. Stations and parking positions can have a roadside charger so they can ensure uptime of the vehicles.
All Police fleets have different vehicles for all kinds of purpose and I feel this video doesn't cover anything about that and just talks about some new car every state police has.
There are Kalyani in several police fleets for example and those were not mentioned.

I don't know about my whole state but in my city jamshedpur, Tata Safari and even many white coloured Honda Livo ( bike) are used as PCR. The bikes have Siren attached to their leg guard which really looks cool

I do like your videos quite a lot, mate. That said, it’s primarily only the Dubai Police that has those exotic cars, and they’re not meant to be used as police cars as such.
Then there’s the fact that EVs won’t really be great as regular police cars. Apart from the weight and complexities that make an EV, they won’t be as practical as an ICE vehicle for police forces.
There are a lot of considerations that go into the production and procurement of police vehicles, the least of which has to do with the whole “EV” ideology.

The very very important and basic rule should be implied by government on the policemen, Are "Bodycams". It is extremely useful for both police and civilians.
It may still end up in a waste of money if the roads aren't improved, no matter how good the vehicle is, they would still have to glide slowly in our disastrous roads..

As a consumer, let me do a simplified math example ke taur pe:
1. First I pay 30% income tax. From the left amount, if I buy a vehicle, then,
2. I pay 28% GST + 12% Road tax = 40% of car
amount
3. To run the car, I need to buy petrol which is taxed at
50% (outside of GST)
4. Still to drive down to rishikesh, I pay INR 3000 toll to use the road.

My mother was a sub-inspector (now retired) in the Lucknow police and worked in a PCR for about a year and a half. Her PCR van was a Gypsy that had no facilities, not even a fan. For some reason, I spent 2-3 days in that van with her during the summers, and believe me, I went crazy. We used to find shade under trees to park the van and dodge temperatures of around 40°C to 42°C. The same situation occurred in the winters, with temperatures around 7°C and cold winds. So, this move by the government is quite commendable. The police department often remains neglected when it comes to providing facilities and budgets.

Police do need better cars. I don't understand why are some people criticizing it. Along with better technology, police needs better vehicles as well.
Bcoz police has lost public faith.
They misbehave with public, they loot, they torture, they misbehave.
They are not servant of public anymore. They have no respect in the society.
Another thing I noticed is that almost all police in western countries mostly use sedans in urban areas. It makes sense because sedans are more stable and comfortable to drive at high speeds on the roads and easier to drive in traffic compared to SUV. Police are also taught pursuit manoeuvres like high speed cornering, swerving and pit manoeuvres which are also a reason why they prefer sedans. These manoeuvres are difficult to do on SUVs without rolling over. Some manufactures even make sedans exclusively for the police in markets that are full of compact SUV and pickup trucks.
Why did the police car not have AC in an Innova. That does not make sense.

India have multiple car manufacturers, all Indian police departments must buy Indian cars,without different preference for higher officials
All these cars are made in India. They buy the best cars for price. And price will be low because of high competition

@@sorryi6685 they don't make them from raw material obtained from India they import them in parts and assemble them in India,as for the job Indians get it's because low lebar cost
